About DoctusTech

A moment of HCC education inspiration

VBC depends
on documentation

Leading value-based care organizations understand the importance of accurate HCC documentation. Reliable coding helps pay for the people and programs that improve patient care.

DoctusTech co-founder Dr. Farshid Kazi experienced these benefits first-hand, when he was able to fund additional social workers, telehealth, and nutrition programs for his patients – all thanks to accurate HCC coding and documentation.

Traditional HCC training
doesn’t work

But the HCC training he experienced – including lectures, emails, faxes, and coder-led feedback – was boring, intermittent, and instantly forgettable. Furthermore, studies show these methods result in just 5% knowledge retention. Dr. Kazi knew there had to be a better way.

A new – but familiar –
way to learn

It’s common for clinicians to keep up to date with clinical knowledge by reading content in small chunks. So, Dr. Kazi thought, why couldn’t HCC coding be taught the same way?

And DoctusTech was born

That realization was the moment that inspired DoctusTech. Instead of lectures and emails, we use predictive AI and natural language processing to deliver individualized learning, direct to your phone. And our performance-driven platform aggregates and simplifies data within your native EMR – so doctors can make better clinical decisions in real time, at the point of care.

We strongly believe the future of medicine is built on value-based systems. And we support that vision by helping providers accelerate the move from fee-for-service to value-based care.

Frequently-asked questions

DoctusTech provides an AI-enabled risk adjustment platform designed to help value-based care organizations improve HCC capture, documentation quality, and RAF accuracy. Its ecosystem includes a mobile HCC coding education app, point-of-care diagnosis support integrated with major EMRs, and an AI copilot that flags documentation/compliance gaps (e.g., MEAT criteria) before they become audit risk.
Key benefits include:
  • More accurate HCC documentation and RAF performance through workflow-aligned guidance and education.
  • Reduced operational burden by automating chart review and surfacing relevant risk signals at the point of care.
  • A stronger compliance posture by flagging notes that may not meet documentation standards (e.g., MEAT), helping reduce avoidable audit exposure.
  • Integration into existing clinical workflows, including 70+ major EMRs, minimizing disruption for clinicians.

DoctusTech’s HCC Coding Mobile App is a mobile learning tool built to help clinicians, coders, and chart-prep teams strengthen HCC documentation and coding accuracy. It teaches through clinical vignettes and short, efficient lessons designed to improve real-world documentation (not memorize codes), supporting better HCC capture and a stronger compliance posture over time.
